Breakthrough in Dental industry

Today in Singapore, OpenLaser Asia today announced the release of the dental industry's first digital restoration solution. Named the Laserdenta OpenScan and CAD Solution. It will deliver a high-precision 3-D laser dental scanner integrated with a leading PC based dental designer CAD software to provide cost effective and accurate digital design of crowns, bridges, copings, veneers and other dental restorations .

The Managing Director of OpenLaser Asia, Michael Cohen says, "By delivering a truly open system within a powerfully combined 3-D Laser scanning and Dental CAD product starting at under $30,000 USD, the Laserdenta OpenScan and CAD Solution provides both the freedom and the opportunity for owners of any size dental lab to enter the digital dental field providing the most complete and competitive service offering to their dental industry customers".

The main target for this state of the art solution is at the small and medium-sized labs throughout Asia-Pacific. The Laserdenta OpenScan and CAD Solution system will generate Input and output files in standard STL format enabling open data to be exchanged between the widest range of equipment and devices. Another huge advantage of this Open system is its ability to produce dental restoration products on any suitable milling device or 3D printer as well as through available manufacturing services.

The Laserdenta OpenScan and CAD Solution is hugely beneficial for laboratories as it enables them to design restorations for all materials (non-precious metal, precious metal, zircon, composites) without the requirement of having to own specific output equipment. The new product also is the first dental scanner available, with its main features being able to scans cut/trim models, and also scans directly from the impression (silicon) and the solid model.
