Dental Practices To Take Part In Charity Ride

Tue, 28 Aug 2007

Denplan member dental practices from all over Britian will be taking part in a charity bike ride next month to help raise money for Dentaid - the specialist registered charity devoted to improving the oral health of disadvantaged communities around the world.

The bike ride follows the famous 874 mile route from John O Groats in the north-east tip of Scotland to Lands End in the south-west tip of England .

Denplan, the UK’s leading dental payment plan provider, recently announced its support of the charity Dentaid by aiming to raise £1million over the next five years.

The bike ride will mark the first major event between the two companies and will take place from September 1 - 9.

The journey is divided into 36 legs with participants expected to ride around 25 miles for each leg – taking about three hours to complete.

In addition, the legs can also be ridden by more than one person, for example a team of five could do five miles each to complete the leg, while any number of practices can take part at any one time.
