A dentist has been suspended by the General Dental Council from practising for lying on a number of job applications.
The GDC said Stanislaw Ciarka created a "pattern of dishonesty" to hide his rejection from an official dental list in Barnsley and tried to mislead the Council .
Mr Ciarka was handed an eight month suspension after a GDC panel that he had not gained financially from the deception.
At the hearing, GDC Chair Debbie Morton said: "The committee was concerned at the repeated dishonesty you displayed. You showed a lack of integrity in persisting with your misleading representations."
"Dishonesty is extremely serious misconduct that would ordinarily attract a sanction of erasure. In this case, no harm was done to patients and there was no pecuniary gain."
She added: "The committee believes a period of suspension will mark the serious view which it takes."
After training in Poland in 1982, Ciarka moved to the UK to practise as a locum in London in August 2005. He applied for inclusion in the Dental List for Barnsley Primary Care Trust, but was unsuccessful due to inadequate references.
He then applied to be included in another PCT list but failed to disclose his rejection by Barnsley.
Ciarka launched an appeal with the Family Health Services Appeal Authority, claiming he was not aware of the refusal by Barnsley PCT despite the Trust sending him written confirmation of his failed application in April 2006 and an insisted he was discriminated against.
The appeal was turned down and led to the GDC stepping in to investigate.
