New Online Dentist Directory Launched By NHS

The NHS has launched a new online directory in a bid to make it easier for people in the UK to find their nearest dentist .

The online service will be available on the NHS website – nhs.co.uk - and aims to help reduce the amount of lack-of-information complaints made by patients looking for an NHS dentist .

Once on the NHS Choices website, users can click the ‘dentist' button and enter their postcode to find out about surgeries close to where they live, as well as opening times and which dentists are accepting new patients .

For those who fail to track down a dental surgery taking on new patients, a helpline number is also included.

The online directory also lists the services the practice offers, the names and roles of surgery staff and a Healthcare Commission rating of the PCT the practice comes under.
