Manchester Dentist Offers Patients Free Taxi Service

Mon, 05 Oct 2009

A dentist in Manchester is helping his patients save money by providing a free taxi service to get them to and from their appointments.

According to Kailesh Solanki, acclaimed dentist and founder of the Kissdental clinic on Stanley Street in Manchester, patients are able to take "the hassle and stress" out of their journey to the dental practice and save cash by pre-booking the Tooth Taxi .

Dr Solanki revealed the free taxi service actually makes the company money and has led to the average cost of an appointment being cut by £5.

He explained: "Missed appointments push our charges up so, even though it costs us to provide transport, we save money in the long run. We can pass those savings on to our patients so everyone ends up happy."

"Patients receive a lower bill and also don't have transport and parking costs to worry about in the city centre."

During trials of the taxi service the dental clinic saw a significant improvement in attendance, recording a 30 per cent reduction in the number of missed appointments.

"The journey to and from the dentist is just another reason why people miss appointments," Solanki continued.

"By taking the hassle and stress out of the journey, patients are left with a smile on their faces, especially when they see their lower bill."

The Tooth Taxi service is available to all patients who live within 10 miles of the Kissdental clinic.
