A Cheshire-based dentist has been banned from treating women alone after being charged with sexual assault.
At a hearing last month, the General Dental Council (GDC) imposed 13 conditions on Roger Marcus Frazer Klein after he was charged by Greater Manchester Police for an alleged attack at a womans home.
For the next 18 months, Mr Klein will not able to treat women at his dental surgery in Knutsford, Cheshire, without a chaperone (unless it is a life-threatening emergency), and must keep a log of every consultation he has with a female patient, which must be signed by a chaperone.
The 41-year-old cannot be alone with any female member of staff at the Regent Cosmetic Dental Practice and as also been barred from visiting the surgery outside of practice hours (except in an emergency), or when there are fewer than two colleagues present.
The GDC said: "The committee does consider it necessary in the public interest and for your own protection that an interim order is imposed to ensure that staff and patients are adequately protected and the reputation of the dental profession is maintained."
Mr Klein, from Ladyacre Close in Lymm, must have a temporary workplace supervisor, who is a dental registrant, and who will send written reports to the GDC at least once every three months.
The dentist is set to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court today (September 17) for a committal hearing.
