Health Insurance Company Simplyhealth has overhauled its consumer dental health plan to reflect the changing face of UK dentistry .
The insurance product has been simplified and focuses more on a preventative approach. For example, it encourages customers to make regular visits to the dentist instead of only going when treatment is required.
The Simply Dental Plan includes cover for check-ups, dental treatment and emergencies, whether private or on the NHS .
It now also offers dental hospital cover which means that customers who have to spend time in hospital following a referral from their dentist can receive a cash benefit of £50 per day or night to help cover their everyday expenses.
Cover starts from just £7.50 per month and there are now four levels of cover to choose from.
Commenting on the relaunch, Raman Sankaran, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, said: "Following the recommendations made by Professor Steele in the Government's Dentistry Review, and our own research of customers and dentists, we've made some simple revisions to our dental plan so that it is clearer and more relevant."
"We've put the emphasis on long term care by providing additional cover for check-ups and scale and polish to help individuals maintain good oral health ."
"We want to help take away the financial bother of visiting the dentist. That's why our new Simply Dental Plan has four premium levels rather than two which we believe will enable customers to better match their level of cover with their budget and dental claiming needs."
