Locals will be offered routine dental treatment and given lessons on oral hygiene and oral health .
In order to take part in the Christian Relief trip, Joanne had to raise enough money to cover the costs of flights, accommodation, visas and vaccinations.
In the end she managed to collect more than £1,000 to through a number of fundraising events and collections taken at the reception of her employers Elliott McCarthy Dental Care .
The 37-year-old said: "A good friend of mine, who I met while I was studying at university, was part of a team that went on a mission earlier this year."
"The stories she told about the difference such a trip can make really made me want to be part of the next Christian Relief Uganda Dental Mission and help put a smile on the faces of people."
Christian Relief Uganda's missions aim to help the countrys dental staff offer treatment in remote rural areas by providing them with the necessary resources.
