A new NHS dental practice in East Yorkshire has officially opened for business.
Snaith Dental Care has been running since September but was officially opened earlier today by Karen Knapton, chairman of NHS East Riding and local MP Andrew Percy.
The practice, which is part of the PCTs £2.8 million investment in NHS dental services in the region, has capacity to take on 5,000 people in Snaith and the surrounding area.
"Increasing NHS dental capacity is a top priority for us," said Karen Knapton. "Im very pleased that a further 36,000 patients have been able to access NHS dentistry in the East Riding since April 2009 through the opening of new practices and increased capacity at existing practices."
"The Snaith practice has been enthusiastically welcomed by the local community and I am delighted to be officially opening this first-class new facility."
Tony OBrien, one of the partners in the new practice, added: "We use the latest digital X-ray system and have two dedicated rooms with all the very latest equipment for instrument cross-infection control."
"Since opening in September, the patient response has been overwhelming. We have not yet advertised Snaith Dental Care due to the huge initial response and will welcome any new patient wishing to transfer from their existing dentist as well as those with no current dentist ."
"We intend to take on a further dentist to help keep up with current demand."
Those interested in registering with Snaith Dental Care are advised to contact the surgery on 01482 315775 or email dental@erypct.nhs.uk.
