Dental Practice Hosts Open Day To Boost Registration Numbers

Thu, 10 Feb 2011

People in Swindon are being encouraged to sign up for dental places by staff at Swindon Dental Care .

The dental practice, which is based at Eldene Health Centre, has signed up 2,900 people since opening in July. However, there is no limit on the number of NHS patients it can register and dentists at the surgery are keen to spread this message.

An open day was held earlier this week to highlight the free services people could be benefiting from.

Guests were offered free consultations with dentists, tours of the surgery, goodie bags and free refreshments, as well as information on the kinds of services available.

Practice manager Kelly Brown said demand for NHS dental care in the area remains strong but staff have struggled to encourage people to register because many locals are unaware of the practice’s existence and the fact that it has capacity for more patients.
